The University of Alberta (U of A) is a public educational institution founded in 1908 and located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The university operates in the higher education and university industry. It is accredited by the American Library Association Committee on Accreditation, the Ministry of Advanced Education of Alberta, and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Additionally, U of A is affiliated with several organizations, including Universities Canada, Association of Commonwealth Universities, University of the Arctic, and U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities.
