The University of Belgrade is a public educational institute in Belgrade, Serbia, founded by Dositej Obradović in 1905. Also known as Univerzitet u Beogradu or Универзитет у Београду, it operates in the industries of education, higher education, and university. The institution is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the Komisija za akreditaciju i proveru kvaliteta. Additionally, the University of Belgrade is affiliated with the European University Association.
One of the university's competitors is Singidunum University. The University of Belgrade has several subsidiaries, including the Faculty of Security Studies, Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Law.
