The University of Chile, also known as Universidad de Chile, is a public educational institute located in Santiago, Chile. Founded in 1842 by Andrés Bello, the university is involved in the higher education industry and is accredited by the National Accreditation Commission, Chile.
The University of Chile has affiliations with several international organizations including the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, the International Forum of Public Universities, and the Open Education Consortium. It also has a subsidiary called the University of Chile Student Federation.
As an organization, the University of Chile has been assigned three patents.
