The University of Hasselt, also known as Hasselt University or Universiteit Hasselt, is a public educational institute located in Diepenbeek, Belgium. Founded on May 28, 1971, the university specializes in the education and higher education industries.
A subsidiary of the University of Hasselt is the Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie. The institution has received accreditation from the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders and the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training of Belgium. In addition, Hasselt University is affiliated with the European University Association.
