The University of North Alabama (UNA) is a public educational institute located in Florence, Alabama, United States. It was founded in 1830 and is accredited by multiple organizations, including the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, among others.
UNA is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, and the National Athletic Association. The university is part of the education, higher education, and university industries.
The university's motto is "Veritas Lux. Orbis Terrarum". It has subsidiaries, such as the University of North Alabama Planetarium and Observatory and the University of North Alabama President's Home.
