The University of North Texas (UNT) is a public educational institution based in Denton, Texas. Established in 1890, UNT operates in the higher education industry and is part of the University of North Texas System. Its motto is "Only the educated are free".
UNT is accredited by several organizations, including the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET, Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET, and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
