The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a public educational institute located in Arlington, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1895 and is a part of the University of Texas System. UTA is also affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the University of Texas System, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, the National Athletic Association, and the Association of Public and Land.
The university has the motto "Disciplina Praesidium Civitatis" and operates in the education, higher education, and university industries. UTA has several subsidiaries, including the University of Texas at Arlington College of Engineering and the University of Texas at Arlington School of Architecture.
