University of the Virgin Islands

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is a public educational institution founded on March 16, 1962. UVI is based in the United States of America, within the territory of the Virgin Islands. Initially, the university was officially called the College of the Virgin Islands. UVI holds accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The institution is affiliated with notable organizations such as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, National Athletic Association, and Association of Public and Land. UVI falls within the industries of education, higher education, university, and historically black colleges and universities.
