VF Corporation is an American worldwide apparel and footwear company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The company's more than 30 brands are organized into three categories: Outdoor, Active and Work. The company controls 55% of the U.S. backpack market with the JanSport, Eastpak, Timberland and North Face brands.
VF designs, produces, and distributes branded apparel and accessories. Its portfolio of about 20 brands includes Vans, The North Face, Timberland, and Dickies. VF markets its products in the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific through wholesale sales to retailers, e-commerce, and branded stores owned by the company and partners. The company has grown through multiple acquisitions and traces its roots to 1899.
In August 2018, VF Corporation announced their plan to spin-off their denim brands, headlined by Wrangler and Lee jeans, into a standalone $2.5 billion-per-year company. The spin off remained at their Greensboro, North Carolina headquarters and was renamed Kontoor Brands.
The spin-off came at the same time VF Corporation moved their headquarters to Denver, Colorado to take advantage of the states tax credits.
