Vasily Vyacheslavovich Utkin was born on March 6, 1972 in Balashikha. From childhood he was fond of literature and foreign languages. At the end of school he entered the Moscow Pedagogical University. He wanted to become a teacher of the Russian language.
Utkin's career began in 1992 with an offer to become the editor of the "Politburo" program. After 2 years, the project was closed. In 1994, he became the host of the cult program "Football Club" on one of the leading TV channels in Russia. Because of this, conflicts constantly arose, which also warmed up interest both in the program itself and in Vasily.
Soon eminent athletes stopped coming to the program and the program was closed. The "Football club" was restarted only in 2000 on the NTV channel.
After that, Utkin worked as an editor of the sports section in the newspaper "Gazeta". He commented on the matches of the European championships, published articles in the "Soviet Sport" magazine.
In 2004 and 2005 he received the "TEFI" award as a commentator. He hosted the programs "Stenka" on the wall and the reality show "Hunger".
He became the voice of commentators in the Russian localization of the football simulator <<FIFA 2007>>.

In the fall of 2010, "NTV-PLUS" was invited to the position of chief editor of sports channels. He headed the department for 5 years. He switched to the sports channel "MATCH TV". But soon after the conflict with Kandelaki's gender director, he left the project.
In the summer of 2018, he was invited to the first channel as a commentator on the World Cup matches. However, after broadcasting 1, he no longer covered the events on the channel. Utkin left the channel without comment on the reason for this decision.
He runs his own YouTube channel. On which he launched the "Football Club" author's program for the third time and maintains a personal blog. At the same time, he comments on the matches of the spanish primera on "OKKO-sport".
He is the founder and president of the "Egrisi" exercise therapy. "Egrisi" plays in the amateur league. Videos dedicated to the life of the club and its members are released on the channel.
Conflicts: in 2000, he was attacked by an unknown person. He received 2 sharpening wounds, but did not receive serious injuries. After that, he walked with security for several months. Presumably, the attack was due to his unflattering reviews of his author's program.
In 2015, when it became known that "NTV-Plus" was coming under the wing of the new "MATCH TV" project, headed by Kandelaki, who had nothing to do with sports, he announced that he was leaving the TV channel.
It is believed that the conflict arose many years earlier, when Kandelaki spoke unflatteringly about Utkin. Periodically they exchange barbs on social networks.
The latest high-profile conflict was a skirmish on Twitter with pro-government political presenter Vladimir Solovyov. The conflict occurred after Vasily’s statement that he “does not need a state that refuses to fulfill social obligations.” This phrase referred to the country’s domestic policy during quarantine. In response, Solovyov , attacked Utkin with insults. The conflict went on for a month, without ending in anything.
Vasily Utkin was married several times. He has no children. He lives with cats, a dog and a raccoon. He believes that he will no longer be able to start a family, because. became an inveterate bachelor and everything suits him.
