Vincenzo Montella

Vincenzo Montella is a former Italian football player and current football coach . Born in Pomigliano d'Arco, Italy, on June 18, 1974 , Montella is known for his career as a footballer and a football coach . His nationality is Italian .

During his career as a football player, Montella was known by the pseudonyms "Top Gun" and "Airplane" (in Italian, "L'Aeroplanino") . As a player, he earned several awards, including the Roma Italian Champion (2000/01), Italian Cup finalist (2002/03, 2004/05), and Italian Super Cup winner (2001) . Montella also represented the Italy national team and was a finalist in the European Championship (2000) .

After transitioning to coaching, Montella has worked as a football manager . Notably, he coached Fiorentina to the final of the Italian Cup (2013/14) and led Milan to win the Italian Super Cup (2016) . Montella also coached Sevilla, reaching the Spanish Cup final in the 2017/18 season .
