Vladimir Solovyov (born 11 November 1946) is a Russian former astronaut and engineer, originally from the Soviet Union. Born in Moscow, Solovyov studied at the prestigious Bauman Moscow State Technical University before embarking on his career.
As an astronaut, Solovyov has been awarded numerous honors for his accomplishments in space exploration, including the Medal "For Merit in Space Exploration", the Hero of the Soviet Union, and the title of Pilot-Cosmonaut of the USSR. In addition to these awards, he has also been granted the Order of Honour, the Order of Friendship, and the Legion of Honour.
Solovyov's contributions to the field of engineering have also been recognized, as he has been awarded the prestigious Order of Lenin and the Kirti Chakra, further cementing his status as an influential figure in both the Soviet Union and Russia's history of space exploration.
