Established on August 15, 2019 , Voyager Space Holdings is the world’s first private holding company devoted solely to the commercial space industry that is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
The company’s founding mission is to manage the business functions of space sector companies so technical entrepreneurs can focus on technology development. The company’s initial goal is to invest and support established space industry companies, not space start-ups. The company does not disclose the companies it invests in.
The company states its aim is to replace the current model of traditional private capital prevalent in the space sector with long term minded, permanent capital investment. Voyager Space Holding’s mission states permanent capital fills the gap left in the space industry by short term private capital that does not benefit the long-term needs of the space industry. Voyager Space Holding’s model supports its subsidiary companies with shared infrastructure that includes services such as payroll, benefits, and human resources.
The company’s founding chairman and CEO is Dylan Taylor , a past space sector angel investor. Taylor founded Space for Humanity, a non-profit whose mission is to shape the future of space travel and policy. On Oct. 2 2019, Voyager Space Holdings announced the appointment of its first president and COO, Matthew Kuta.
