Walter J. Ong

Walter J. Ong (1912-2003) was an anthropologist, historian, writer, journalist, and philosopher from Kansas City, Missouri. Ong was a citizen of the United States and received his education at multiple institutions, including Harvard University, Rockhurst University, and Saint Louis University. He was notably a doctoral advisee of Marshall McLuhan.

Ong passed away in St. Louis on August 12, 2003.
