American biochemist
Wendell Meredith Stanley (born August 16, 1904) was an American biochemist and chemist. He was born in Ridgeville, Indiana, and held citizenship in the United States. He was educated at the University of Illinois System, the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, and Earlham College. Apart from science, Stanley was also a writer.
During his lifetime, Stanley received numerous awards, including the 1946 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the Newcomb Cleveland Prize in 1936. He specialized in the academic discipline of chemistry. Stanley passed away on June 15, 1971 in Salamanca.
