Western Carolina University (WCU) is a public educational institute located in Cullowhee, North Carolina, United States. It was founded in 1889 and is part of the University of North Carolina system. It operates in the fields of education, higher education, and university industries.
WCU holds several accreditations, including from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, American Chemical Society, Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET, Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET, Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education, and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
