William Asher (born August 8, 1921, in New York City) was an American screenwriter, film director, film producer, and television producer. He held citizenship in the United States. Asher was known for his work on various popular television shows and films, including "I Love Lucy," "Bewitched," and "The Dukes of Hazzard".
He also directed films such as "Beach Party", "How to Stuff a Wild Bikini", "Beach Blanket Bingo", "Muscle Beach Party", "Temperatures Rising", "The Paul Lynde Show", "The Colgate Comedy Hour", and "Night Warning".
Additionally, Asher directed other television series such as "Fibber McGee and Molly", "The Donna Reed Show", "The Patty Duke Show", "Our Miss Brooks", and "Crazy like a Fox".
William Asher was the father of John Asher, and he passed away on July 16, 2012, in Palm Desert, California.
