William S. Burroughs was an American writer, poet, novelist, screenwriter, and photographer, born on February 5, 1914, in St. Louis. He was a key figure in the founding of the Beat Generation and was educated at Harvard University. Burroughs published numerous works in various genres, including autobiography, science fiction, satire, and dystopia.
Some of his most notable works include "Naked Lunch," "Nova Express," "Cities of the Red Night," and "The Place of Dead Roads". He also wrote under the pseudonym Willy a William Lee.
William S. Burroughs had a son, William S. Burroughs Jr., who was also a writer. Burroughs passed away on August 2, 1997, in Lawrence, Kansas.
