WinZO Games (also known as WinZO, WinZO Gold) is a vernacular mobile gaming platform in India. It is available in twelve regional languages of India. WinZO Games is operated by TicTok Skill Games Pvt. Ltd. and was cofounded by Paavan Nanda, an IIM Calcutta alumnus who also cofounded ZO Rooms and Zostel, and Saumya Singh Rathore, who was previously with The Times Group.
WinZO reported 50 million users in September 2021. The company set up a fund of $20 million to support Game Developers in India. In January 2020, WinZO announced the launch of Game Developers Console, where gaming studios and independent game developers across the world can launch their games on the platform.
In March 2020, WinZO announced a strategic partnership with Tencent Games India to host PUBG Mobile e-sports in local languages in India. In September 2020, WinZO launched its fantasy sports platform that allows users to play fantasy cricket, football, and kabaddi. And in November 2020, WinZO partnered with Nextwave Multimedia to host their widely popular cricket game, WCC (World Cricket Championship), on WinZO.
In July 2019, WinZO Games announced it had raised $5 million in Series A funding led by Kalaari Capital and Hike. In September 2020, WinZO raised $18 million in a Series B funding round led by Makers Fund and Courtside Ventures. In July 2021, WinZO announced its Series C Round of $65 million, which was led by California-based Griffin Gaming Partners and its existing investors.
