WoodWick is a candle brand sold by Yankee Candle. The brand is a product of Smith Mountain Industries, which operated as Virginia Gift Brands. The candle company began operations in the 1990s, with production originating out of a garage and expanding to a factory in Lynchburg, Virginia. In 2016, Smith Mountain Industries was acquired by Newell Industries for $100 million.
WoodWick candles feature a wooden wick that crackles when burned, and the candles are made from a blend of paraffin and soy wax to reduce spatter and residue. The company reportedly uses renewable and natural resources, including organic wicks, natural wax, and fine essential oils. In addition to candles, WoodWick manufactures reed diffusers, wax melts, hand-blown glass candle holders, and plug-in scents. Fragrance categories include Fruity & Citrus, Floral, Fresh & Clean, Ambery, Woody, and Gourmand.
