WoodWick candles are a premium candle brand sold by Yankee Candle. They have a wooden wick that crackles when burned and use a blend of paraffin and soy wax to reduce spatter and residue. The brand is a product of Virginia Gift Brands, a subsidiary of Smith Mountain Industries. They are exclusively made in Virginia, mostly at a factory in Lynchburg.
The Virginia Candle Company began operations in 1990 in Lynchburg, Virginia. The company reportedly uses renewable and natural resources, including organic wicks, natural wax and fine essential oils. WoodWick candles feture a wide, short wick made from organic wood. Virginia Candle Brands was established in 1997 out of a Lynchburg garage. WoodWick candles are sold worldwide.
