Yabx aims to simplify financial access for the over two billion underbanked and unbanked people and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the emerging markets of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Yabx operates in over twenty markets worldwide and has over fifty-five million customers. The company was founded by Rajat Dayal and incubated by Comviva, a global leader in mobile financial services. Yabx is part of the $21 billion Mahindra Group. Yabx operates out of The Hague, New Delhi, Bogota, and Nairobi.
Yabx enables the underbanked and unbanked with limited credit history to get fair access to financial services based on their needs. To do so, Yabx creates a credible financial identity for them using alternate data, such as data transactions on mobile phones and machine learning to predict the ability and willingness to consume financial products. Yabx also gives the user financial control and choice and manages their credit lifecycle, from acquisition to settlement.
Products include micro and small consumer loans, agent loans, handset loans, and airtime credit.
Yabx leverages technology and analytics to reduce the cost of delivering financial services, thereby bringing banking services to the unbanked. Yabx has established strategic partnerships with leading banks, microfinance institutions, credit bureaus, mobile financial services providers, mobile network operators, and handset manufacturers.
In 2022, Yabx won the Pacific Islands FinTech Innovation Challenge 2022 for increasing usage of financial products and services in the Solomon Islands. The award was organized by United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in Singapore. Yabx also won the LendTech of the Year award at Asia FinTech Awards'22 and the Best Buy Now Pay Later Solution award at Global Fintech Fest'22.
