Yuri Temirkanov

Yuri Temirkanov is a Russian conductor, teacher, and public figure best known for his work in classical music. Born as Yuri Khatuevich Temirkanov on December 10, 1938, in Nalchik, Russia , he is a citizen of Russia . Temirkanov received his education at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory .

Throughout his career, Temirkanov has been recognized with numerous awards, including Honored Artist of the RSFSR , People's Artist of the RSFSR , and Honorary Citizen of St. Petersburg . He has also received the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th classes , the Order of Lenin , the USSR State Prize , and the State Prize of the Russian Federation .
