Maintenance training has delivered the best learning outcomes when it has been conducted in an on-the-job setting using a highly hands-on format thus resulting in experiential learning. Over the years, multiple attempts have been made to impart this training through other delivery methods in classrooms or remote settings using computer-based or lecture-based instruction techniques with limited success. The advent and proliferation of new immersive technologies now enables delivery of Maintenance Trainings in a format which couples experiential learning with remote delivery settings. Our Zen-Train solution is conceptualized as a Maintenance Training content creation suite which quickens the development and deployment of Maintenance Trainings. Our solution will feature capabilities like: ingestion of variety of digital-twins, 2-D / 3-D drawings, photos, point clouds, images, etc creation and modification of immersive training experiences based on extended reality incorporation of adaptive training algorithms for learner specific content integration with organization's e-learning ecosystem (i.e. Moodle) The solution envisaged would not only enable learners to interact with training objects in virtual realm, but these training objects could also be capable of serving as job-aids while performing maintenance tasks through integration with the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
