Zano describes itself as a scalable and secure coin designed for use in e-commerce. The technology behind its blockchain has been reportedly optimized for P2P transactions.
Zano (ZAN) is a privacy cryptocurrency launched on December 7, 2018. Zano uses a hybrid Proof-of-Work (PoW) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and CryptoNote which helps protect the Zano network from double spend and 51% attacks. Zano replaces the kernal structure of classic Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus with a keyimage hash of public keys consisting of 32 bytes of pseudorandom data, and a stakemodifier that recalculates each new block making the kernal unpredictable.
The same company developing Zano developed the privacy cryptocurrency Boolberry (BBR), and is offering Boolberry coin holders the opportunity to swap their BBR coins for Zano (ZAN) coins at a 1:1 ratio.
