is a monument in Kyiv dedicated to Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the first Hetman of Zaporizhian Host. It was built in 1888 - it is one of the oldest sculptural monuments, a dominating feature of Sophia Square and one of the city's symbols.
The monument is located almost in the middle of the Sophia Square (formerly the main city's square) on the axis that unites both belltowers of the Sophia Cathedral and the St.Michael's Monastery.
Here on 23 December 1648 residents of Kyiv met Khmelnytsky leading his Cossacks' regiments by entering the city through the Golden Gates soon after the victory over Polish Army at the battle of Pyliavtsi.

At 16, I became the executive director of an advertising agency, at 18 I opened my own branding agency and in less than a year I earned my first really big money. And then in 2009, he simply left the profitable business to realize his long-time dream - to gather friends together, cook for them and make them a little happier. That's how I opened Barsuk Gastrobar: I cooked and took orders myself. I thought that everything would be cozy and intimate, like in a movie about small Italian family restaurants. However, with the very first turn, I realized that the matter will not be limited to one "Badger". There were concepts, ideas and, most importantly, people with whom and for whom we wanted to realize them.

The Ukrainian state art and technical high school which is the historical inheritor of Ukrainian Academy of Arts which was founded at December 5, 1917 in Kyiv by the Central Rada of Ukrainian People's Republic. During the Soviet era, the name of the institution changed several times. Kyiv Art Institute appeared as a result of reorganization and merger of Institute of Plastic Arts (1922-1924) and Ukrainian Institute of Architecture (1918-1924). In 1925 KHI got a new building of former Kyiv Theological Seminary (where it is located today as National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture) this helped to open new departments: film and photography, printing, sculpture and pedagogical.

Since 1934, he worked as a turner at a machine tool factory.
A participant in the German-Soviet war. During the war, he commanded a reconnaissance company. Member of the CPSU(b) since 1945.
In 1947–1953, he studied at the Kyiv Art Institute under Mykhailo Lysenko. Since 1953, he has been a sculptor of the scientific and restoration workshop at the Architectural Department of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR.
In 1966–1973, he was the rector of the Kyiv Art Institute (since 1971, he was a professor). In 1968–1980, he was the chairman of the board of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He was elected a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR of the 9th and 10th convocations (1975–1985).
He died on April 19, 2010. Buried in Kyiv at Baikovo cemetery (plot No. 52a).
