AST Publishing House is one of the largest publishing houses occupying a leading position in the Russian book market, founded in 1990. AST publishes books in almost all genres for the widest possible audience. These are intellectual and entertaining literature, Russian and foreign classics, textbooks and manuals, applied books. The publishing house produces more than 40 million copies of books a year and unites the strongest editorial team in the country.
The main principles of the publishing house are to preserve the intellectual world heritage; provide the reader with the widest possible selection of literature corresponding to his personal and professional interests; always be aware of world literary trends and share them with the reader; be socially active - implement advertising campaigns to support reading in Russia.
The AST publishing house has the largest portfolio of authors - more than 5,000 names.
More than 500 new books are published monthly. Among the authors of the publishing house are world-famous writers Stephen King, Paulo Coelho, Dan Brown, Anna Gavalda, Donna Tartt, Neil Gaiman, Suzanne Collins, Harper Lee, Paula Hawkins, Andy Weier, James Dashner, George Martin; as well as popular Russian authors: Boris Akunin, Dmitry Glukhovsky, Lyudmila Ulitskaya, Sergey Lukyanenko, Vladimir Pozner, Edward Radzinsky, Guzel Yakhina, Olga Uzorova, Sergey Tarmashev, Elena Mikhalkova and many others.
The structure of the AST publishing house includes three main editorial departments. Each Department includes several imprint editions (brands). Each imprint produces books for its own segment of the reader:
Fiction: "Neoclassic", "Corpus", "GENRES", "ASTREL SPB", "Edition of Elena Shubina", "Mainstream", "ID Leningrad";
Applied literature: "TIMES", "FOREWARE", "PRIME EURO SIGN", "Lingua";
Children's literature: "BABY", "ASTREL", "Planet of Knowledge", "AVANTA";
In 2005, the AST publishing group included Audiobook LLC, whose main activity is the publication of audio versions of works of various genres by Russian and foreign authors read by popular theater and film actors.
In 2012, the AST publishing house merged with the EKSMO publishing house, and already in 2013, the EKSMO-AST group took 45th place in the world ranking of book publishers.
