Agragene's Precision-Guided Sterile Insect Technology ™ is a dominant genetic technique that encodes female embryonic lethality and male sterility. Thus, by breeding insect lines, only sterile male crop pests are produced. The sterile males are released into the field where they find and mate with wild female crop pests. The resulting eggs are unfertilized and no viable progeny are produced.
