Aleksandr Kaleri

Aleksandr Kaleri, born on 13 May 1956, is an engineer and astronaut from Jūrmala. He holds citizenship in both the Soviet Union and Russia. He is the child of Antonina Petrovna Kaleri and Yuri Borisovich Kaleri.

Kaleri received his education at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Over the years, he has been awarded numerous recognitions including Hero of the Russian Federation, Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 2nd class, 3rd class, 4th class, Order of Friendship, Medal "For Merit in Space Exploration", NASA Space Flight Medal, NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, Legion of Honour, and Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation.
