Alexander Goldenweiser (anthropologist)

Alexander Goldenweiser (29 January 1880 - 6 July 1940) was a Russian anthropologist known for his work in the United States . He was born in Kyiv and later obtained citizenship in the United States .

Goldenweiser received his education at Columbia University, where he studied under anthropologist Franz Boas . He held dual citizenship in both the Russian Empire and the United States .

He made numerous contributions to the field of anthropology throughout his career . Alexander Goldenweiser passed away in Portland, Oregon on 6 July 1940.
