Alexei Alexeyevich Abrikosov (born June 25, 1928, in Moscow, Russia) was a Russian physicist and professor. He was educated at the Russian Academy of Sciences and the MSU Faculty of Physics. Lev Landau served as his doctoral advisor.
Abrikosov's notable work included contributions to condensed matter physics. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards and recognitions, such as the 2003 Nobel Prize in Physics, the Landau Gold Medal, the Fritz London Memorial Prize 1960, the Lenin Prize, the USSR State Prize, and the FRS.
Born to father Alexei Ivanovich Abrikosov, Alexei Abrikosov was married to his partner, Svetlana Yuriyevna Bunkova. He passed away on March 29, 2017, in Palo Alto, California.
