Alpine F1 is a 2021 rebrand of the Renault F1 racing team based out of Enstone in Oxfordshire, in the United Kingdom. Renault first entered Formula 1 racing in 1986. Alpine is a French company that has manufactured racing and sports cars since the 1950s and was purchased by Renault in 1973. As of 2021, the team ranks sixth in terms of races started by teams (400) and has racked up over 200 wins in the sport when considering their time as a manufacturer and engine supplier. The Renault engine remains the engine for the Alpine F1 team.
Though Alpine F1 is a new name, much about the team remains the same, though with the rebrand came the return of Spanish driver Fernando Alonso. Alonso had driven for Renault in previous years, but left the team in 2018. He is a two-time Formula 1 Drivers Champion. The Alpine F1 team is made up of David Brivio as racing director, Marcin Budkowski as executive director, Pat Fry as the chassis technical director, Laurent Rossi as the CEO of Alpine, and drivers Fernando Alonso and Estaban Ocon.
