Andre Gunder Frank (born February 24, 1929, in Berlin, Germany; died April 23, 2005, in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg) was a German economist, writer, and historian. He studied at Swarthmore College and the University of Chicago, where he earned his doctorate under the guidance of Milton Friedman. Frank held German citizenship and was the son of Leonhard Frank.
