Antoni Zygmund (1900-1992) was a Polish-American mathematician who specialized in mathematics. He was born on December 25, 1900, in Warsaw, Poland, and held citizenship in both Poland and the United States. Zygmund received his education at the University of Warsaw.
He mentored doctoral students such as Paul Cohen and Mischa Cotlar. Zygmund passed away on May 30, 1992, in Chicago. As a notable person in the field of mathematics, his contributions spanned both Europe and the United States throughout the 20th century.
