Arash Ferdowsi is an Iranian-American entrepreneur and co-founder of Dropbox, a file sharing and storage company based in San Francisco, California.
Arash is the son of Gholam Ferdowsi and Tahmineh Faridazar, both from Iran. He was born in Overland Park, Kansas in 7 October 1985. In 2004, Aresh graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School. He went to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to study Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
In 2007, he met Drew Houston in MIT and they founded Dropbox. In 2008, the last year of his program, he dropped out and focused on Dropbox. He was the chief technology officer of the company until 2016. He remains an executive of the company and a member of the board of directors.
In 2011, he was named in 30 Under 30 top entrepreneurs list of Inc. Magazine and Fortune Magazine's 40 Under 40 list. In 2016 he landed on the 30th spot on Forbes' America's Richest Entrepreneurs Under 40. As of 2018, his net worth is $1.3 billion.
