The history of the Arcteryx trademark began in 1989, when the little-known company was called Rock Solid. The main product range of the company then was the production of safety harnesses for climbers and climbers. In 1991, the company's founder David Lane, together with his partner Jeremy Garda, expanded the product range by starting the production of outdoor goods under the Arc'teryx brand.
The Arcteryx trademark is widely known in Europe thanks to the production of high-tech clothing for skiing, freeriding and mountaineering. The company's products are manufactured in 8 countries: USA, China, El Salvador, Italy, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Bangladesh. There is an experimental, production center and design bureau in Canada.
Since its foundation, Arcteryx has been one of the leaders in the field of innovations for extreme tourist equipment, applying new technologies in its developments, for example, in 1991, the company developed an innovative type of fasteners for safety harnesses (used in the Skaha model, making the system more comfortable and preventing the weakening of insurance).
In 1994, Arcteryx introduced Vapor Technology into production: the design of the safety harnesses was changed, thermally firmed foam was added to the waist girths, which made climbing more comfortable and safe for athletes.
In 1999, the company Arcteryx started using lamination, waterproof zippers and micro seams in the production of clothing. In cooperation with Polartec, we have created a new category of materials - Softshell.
In 2001, Arcteryx signed a contract with Adidas-Salomon and became their subsidiary.
In 2006, composite construction began to be used in the production of clothing and equipment, combining several types of materials in different zones in one model, but without seams weighing down the product between them.
In 2007, together with Gore, we started a series of tests of a new membrane - Gore-Tex Pro.
In 2015, the production of innovative mountain shoes was launched: double construction without seams, with a molded inner and laminated upper, as well as a Gore-Tex membrane.
