Srinivasan made the news in March 2023 when he entered into a bet on Twitter. Another Twitter account under a pseudonym proposed a million-dollar bet that the United States would not enter hyperinflation, which had been a topic of discussion due to the country already experiencing inflation.
Srinivasan responded with his thoughts and explained that he predicted that not only will the United States experience hyperinflation but also that bitcoin will reach a value of $1 million within ninety days. With the bet, if bitcoin does not reach $1 million by June 17, 2023, the Twitter user with the pseudonym will win $1 million worth of USD coin and one bitcoin. If bitcoin does indeed reach a value of $1 million, Srinivasan does not have to pay anything.
