Bertil Ohlin was a Swedish economist and politician born on April 23, 1899, in Klippan, Scania. He held Swedish citizenship and was known for his work on the Heckscher-Ohlin model and the Heckscher-Ohlin theorem. In 1977, Ohlin received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.
Ohlin studied at several universities, including Lund University, Stockholm School of Economics, Stockholm University, and Harvard University. His academic disciplines were economics and politics. He was a doctoral student under Gustav Cassel.
In addition to his career as an economist, Ohlin was also a politician. He had a daughter named Anne Wibble. Bertil Ohlin passed away on August 3, 1979, in Åre, Sweden.
