American comic strip and comic book writer
Bill Finger (8 February 1914 – 18 January 1974) was a screenwriter and comics artist born in New York City and a citizen of the United States. He was educated at DeWitt Clinton High School. Bill Finger is best known as the creator of numerous characters in the DC Comics universe, such as Batman, Batgirl, and Joker.
In addition to Batman and related characters, Finger also created Dick Grayson, Green Lantern, and Killer Moth. He contributed to the creation of the Green Lantern comic book series as well. Finger passed away in Manhattan, New York.
