Born on the 25th of January 1961, Bruno Sainjon is the chairman of the board of administrators of ONERA. He attended the École Polytechnique and the National School of Advanced Techniques. In 1987, Bruno Sainjon started his career at the DGA, where he held various positions in the fields of missiles – space – nuclear, until 1996.
From 1996 to 2005, he continued his career in the Prime Minister's office, with Defense Minister Alain Richard, in industry and at the General Secretariat for National Defence. He worked as director of economic affairs and animation within the interministerial delegation to the football world cup from 1996-1997. He also worked as technical adviser, then adviser for economic, financial and budgetary affairs from 1998 -2000. From 2000 to 2002, he served as director of strategy and development of the energy materials sector of SNPE.
He also served as chairman and managing director of CELERG and CELERG International (2000-2002). He then served as deputy director of technologies and sensitive transfers from 2003-2005. After being promoted to general armaments engineer on July 1, 2005. He joined the DGA at the end of 2005 as director of the nuclear and missile programs department. In 2007, he was appointed Deputy Director of Weapons Systems and then promoted in January 2009 to the rank and designation of General Engineer Hors Classe of Armaments by becoming Director of Weapons Systems. In October 2009, he became the Director of Operations. In January 2009, he became the representative of the Minister of Defense on the Supervisory Board of OCCAr (Joint Organization for Cooperation in Armaments). He is a Knight of the Legion of Honor and an Officer of the National Order of Merit.
