Capvis was founded in 1990 as SBC Equity PartnersSBC Equity Partners, a part of the Equity Banking Division of the Swiss Bank Corporation. In 1998, Capvis Equity Partners AG emerged as part of the UBS private equity organisation, UBS Capital, as a result of the UBS and SBC merger. Capvis Equity Partners AG changed its name to Capvis AG in 2019. In 2013, Private Equity International (PEI) named Capvis Equity Partners AG as the “Best Private Equity Firm” in Germany. In 2017, PEI named Capvis Equity Partners AG as the “Best Private Equity Firm” in Switzerland for the twelfth time.
