Chika Nwobi (born August 31, 1978), is a Nigerian entrepreneur, investor, and company builder operating in the Technology sector. He is on the board of directors of Unilever, a partner at Rise Capital, and the CEO and Founder of L5Lab, a holding company focused on incubation, growth capital, and seed investments. He is credited as the leading co-founder and former Group CEO of MTech Communications PLC, Nigeria's first mobile technology firm and the pioneer of value-added services in the country.
He is also the founding director of the Wireless Application Service Providers’ Association of Nigeria (WASPAN), established to prioritize the development and use of local ICT content, including the use of local software and hardware in the country.
He was awarded Young Person of the Year 2008 by The Future Awards. In 2018, he was selected as one of the People of African Descent as part of the United Nations General Assembly's Global Top 100 Under 40.
Nwobi enrolled in East Tennessee State University in 1996, where he graduated with honors and received a BSc in Computer Science and a BA in Economics. From 2009-2010, he enrolled in a joint executive MBA program at Tsinghua University and INSEAD, taking courses in Corporate Finance, Financial Accounting, and Corporate Strategy.
He is presently enrolled in a MS course in Software Engineering at the University of Oxford.

At the same time, the period of military rule was coming to a close in Nigeria and democratic governance was about to take shape. In 2000, he moved back to Nigeria after hearing about the new development of telecommunications in Nigeria from former President Olusegun ObasanjoOlusegun Obasanjo. He described his decision to move back to Nigeria as an uncommon practice at the time, but explained that he was inspired by a family friend, Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, after she decided to move back to take an executive role at the FATE Foundation.
