CloudGenix is a company providing software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solutions for organizations. The company was founded by Kumar Ramachandran, Mani Ramasamy, Navneet Yadav, and Venkataraman Anand in 2013. CloudGenix aims to simplify WAN management through the use of a software-based system to provide better WAN performance for organizations. It is based in San Jose, California, United States.
CloudGenix’s main product is SD-WAN. SD-WAN is used to manage a WAN connection – commonly established between data centers and users based from various locations worldwide – by providing the software to manage WAN connection; thus allowing organizations utilizing this type of connection to select a more cost-effective solution to increase their bandwidth. It is advertised as an alternative to packet routers and MPLS.
Since SD-WAN is limited to only providing customers with the software functionality to manage WAN, CloudGenix developed ION devices which are meant to be utilized to automatically determine which WAN path to choose based on the application’s needs. The product is aimed at businesses operating in the retail and finance industry.
Since 2014, CloudGenix has managed to raise $99 million through four funding rounds. It held a Series C on April 2019, which amassed $65 million. The company has received financing from past investors such as CRV, ClearSky, IntelCapital, and Mayfield Fund.
