Deeper Network is based out of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara, California, where it was founded in 2019. The company combines blockchain, network security, and sharing economy to create a global Web 3.0 peer-to-peer network. Deeper Network is built on the Polkadot blockchain platform and has been elected by the Parity Technologies committee to participate in the Substrate Builder's Program for its Web 3.0 concept. In early 2021, Deeper Network won the Substrate Builder's Web 3.0 grant to build infrastructure for Polkadot.
Deeper Network offers hardware VPN (virtual private network) products that provide users with cybersecurity, ad-blocking, and blockchain mining capabilities. A user is required to make a one-time purchase, and no subscription payments are required for life. The products come pre-configured and do not require any specialized technical skill to be operated.
Deeper Network offers an affiliate program for all users. As part of the program, users can share affiliate links and coupon codes with prospective customers and earn a 10 percent commission for every sold product, and the customer can save 5 percent off their purchase.
Deeper Network's native token is called DPR, and it fuels the platform's ecosystem. The value of the DPR token is derived from the users’ usage of decentralized services and applications on the network, as well as the incentivization of the network's staking and mining rewards, which creates a self-sustaining decentralized economy.
Deeper Network has partnerships with Polkadot, Best Buy, Amazon, Indiegogo, PAID Ignition, Duckstarter, Poolz, and Flybit.
The company plans to lead development so as to eventually enable interoperability with other ecosystems, whereby DPR could become applicable across a variety of ecosystems. The total supply of DPR is capped at 10 billion, with 60 percent of this amount reserved as mining rewards for users of the Deeper Network.
- P2P (peer-to-peer) bandwidth sharing: DPR tokens can be earned and spent via sharing or consuming bandwidth on the network. The lack of effective economic incentives on traditional P2P creates an imbalance between bandwidth usage and bandwidth consumption. Deeper Network aims to avoid this imbalance by incentivizing users to actively contribute bandwidth to the network, hypothetically making it more performant for all users.
- Decentralized cybersecurity services: Nodes on the Deeper Network are next-generation firewalls (NGFW) designed to prevent network attacks via network scanning, overflow attacks, injection attacks, and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Users can utilize the DPR cryptocurrency to buy Deeper nodes as a cloud firewall to conceal their IP address and prevent a host of different network attacks.
- Decentralized gateway services and dAPP Store: Deeper Network is a platform provider for decentralized apps (dApps). Deeper Network is designing a decentralized ad ecosystem that plans to enable users to use DPR for ad publishing without the involvement of third parties. In the dApp ecosystem, third-party developers will need to stake a certain amount of DPR tokens to have their dApps hosted on the network. They will also be required to accept DPR as payment currency for services.
- Decentralized web services: DPR can be used to purchase decentralized domain names anonymously on the Deeper Network blockchain. In this system, owners of domains have complete ownership instead of leasing them through ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). In addition, domain owners can use DPR to obtain their own cryptographic keys for digital signatures, practically eliminating the need for third-party certificate authorities (CAs).
