Dentons is the world's largest law firm, with roughly 150 offices worldwide. The company was founded in 2013 as a merger of Canada's Fraser Milner Dasgrain, Paris-based Salands, and the legacy firm SNR Denton. This merger was the second major one in less than three years for SNR Denton, which was formed in 2010 when Chicago-based Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal combined with UJ firm Denton Wilde Sapte.
In 2015, Dentons merged with Dacheng, the largest firm in Asia, creating the largest global firm by attorney head count. The was led by CEO Elliott Portnoy and Global Chair Joseph Andrew. The combination grew the company to over 6,000 attorneys. The company's logo included the Chinese characters for Dacheng, as it is known in China, followed by the Dentons name.
In 2021, the firm's gross revenue topped $2.9 billion and placed sixth on the 2022 Global 200 ranking. Dentons has nearly 11,000 attorneys.
