Disqus is a software company providing a blog comment hosting service for websites that is headquartered in San Francisco, California and was founded in 2007 by Daniel Ha and Jason Yan.
On December 5, 2007 Disqus was acquired by Zeta Global for an acquisition price of approximately $90 million. The CEO of Zeta Global made the following statement regarding the acquisition of Disqus:
Marketers typically have to make trade-offs between reaching engaged audiences on social platforms with massive reach and using tools that give them control and access to granular targeting capabilities. Disqus strengthens Zeta’s ability to offer the best of both worlds with the scale, visibility and performance marketers have been asking for.
Disqus was incubated at Y Combinator and graduated their incubation program in 2007 raising $500,000 in seed funding from Union Square, Knight’s Bridge Capital Partners, Naval Ravikant, and Aydin Senkut.
