Duchess Marie Elisabeth of Saxony was born on November 22, 1610, in Dresden and died on October 24, 1684, in Husum. She was the daughter of John George I, Elector of Saxony, and Duchess Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia. Marie Elisabeth held German nationality and was known as a duchess consort of Holstein-Gottorp through her marriage to Duke Friedrich III of Holstein-Gottorp.
