Einride is a company designing and building autonomous electric transportation (AET) systems for freight and cargo that is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden that was founded in 2016 by Filip Lilja, Linnéa Kornehed, and Robert Falck. The freight and cargo systems offered by Einride can be fitted with specialized modular trailers for pallets, timber, perishable goods, and other products needing to be shipped.
On July 12, 2018 Einride announced raising SEK 35 million in seed funding from Mikael Lindblom and other angel investors. The firm plans on using their seed funding to begin releasing their products on public roads starting in September 2018.
On October 10, 2019 Einride announced raising $25 million in series A funding from NorddicNinja VC (lead investor), EQT Ventures (lead investor), Plum Alley, Plug and Play, Norrsken Foundation, and Ericsson Ventures. The company plans on using their series A funding primarily to expand their operations in the United States. The CEO of Einride made the following statement regarding his company's series A funding:
Our ambition is to disrupt the transport industry, and closing our series A brings us one step closer to that goal. The funding will allow us to start expanding in the U.S., deliver on our technology road map, and to meet rapidly increasing customer demand.
