Marketed as the "Hippocampus For AI," Epsilla aims to offer a scalable, fast, and cost-effective vector database, bridging the gap in information retrieval and memory retention in generative AI. Epsilla offers both Native Python and RESTful APIs to help with integration and accessibility. Epsilla's core is written in C++.
Epsilla was part of the Y Combinator S23 Accelerator Batch, and the company launched on July 30, 2023. Epsilla was founded by Richard Song (CEO), Ricki Qin, and Eric Yang. Before cofounding Epsilla, Song was Senior Director of Cloud Engineering at TigerGraph, leading the team to build the DBaaS offering of TigerGraph's graph analytics platform.
An open-source database, the company initially plans to make Epsilla freely available. Users can sign up for a waiting list to access Epsilla Cloud.
