Esri is a company offering geographic information system (GIS) mapping software for mapping and spatial data analytics that is headquartered in Redlands, California and was founded in 1969 by Jack Dangermond.
On February 29, 2019 Esri announced acquiring Indoo.rs, a company making a mobile software development kit (SDK) for navigation and real-time positioning, for an undisclosed amount of money. The company made the acquisition to gain the ability to provide their users with imbedded IPS location services for indoor mapping and analysis.
On February 23, 2018 Esri announced acquiring ClearTerra, a company offering geospatial software development and technical services, for an undisclosed amount of money. The company made the purchase to acquire greater abilities to serve their customers in the defense, intelligence, and public safety industries.
On October 15, 2012 Esri announced acquiring Geoloqi, a company offering a platform for location awareness and real-time location, for an undisclosed amount of money. The president of Esri, Jack Dangermond, made the following statement regarding the acquisition of Geoloqi:
We are excited to have the team at Geoloqi and its technology become part of the Esri family. Geoloqi’s capabilities and relationships with the developer community will build on Esri’s already impressive suite of ArcGIS products to create more dynamic mobile and web applications.
On July 11, 2011 Esri announced acquiring Procedural, a company offering a 3D visualization platform for city data, for an undisclosed amount of money.
